For some specialised equipment integrated circuits are not always available. As quantities are low, in these cases, hybrid- and thick films circuits are used. After design of the circuit, this large reproduction camera at RF Systems is used to produce the films for these circuits. The circuits are finally manufactured by universities and companies which can produce these circuits to a very fine specification. The camera is also used to produce films for printed circuit boards and silk-screens for the printing of front panels.
All RF Systems' antenna mounting bases are made of a special weather resistant aluminium alloy. For the production of these parts a CNC centre is used, which can produce a complete mounting head under computer control. Some other parts are made of seawater resistant stainless steel, for instance, parts which are used for marine antennas. Machining of this difficult material requires a specialised CNC centre.
