Currently two weather satellite systems are in use: the geo-stationary Meteosat's en GOES satellites and the low orbiting NOAA and Meteor satellites. RF Systems doesn't produce dishes or yagi antennas for the GOES and Meteosat satellites, but offers a remarkable antenna for reception of the NOAA, Meteor and other satellites in the 137 MHz band.

* WSP - 137
The WSP - 137 is an omni-directional passive antenna for the reception of satellites in the 137 MHz band. The WSP - 137 offers the unique feature of variable polarisation. The antenna is horizontally polarised at low angles, changing to right hand circular polarisation at higher angles. This ensures optimal reception from horizon to horizon. The well-know ´´noise-bars´´ at approx. 40 degree angles which often can be seen with normal cross-dipoles, are not present with the WSP 137.

* DX 500/AMP  in-line amplifier
When less than 15 metres low-loss coaxial cable (Aircell or Aircom) is used between the weather satellite antenna and a sensitive receiver, normally no amplification of the satellite signal is required. With longer cable lengths however, the attenuation of the cable at 137 MHz cannot be neglected any longer. To much cable attenuation will result in a noisy picture. Amplification of the received signals directly after the antenna is required. For this purpose the DX 500/Amplifier is available. This is an in-line low-noise wideband amplifier, which can be simply inserted between the antenna connector and the coaxial cable. It is housed in a completely waterproof stainless steel cylinder, 100 mm long, 25 mm diameter. These small dimensions assure that the amplifier can find a place in the mounting pole of the antenna, so it is protected from rain. If the weather satellite receiver has an antenna input with active antenna feed (12 V 100 mA) than the DX 500/Amp can be fed directly from the receiver. If no active antenna feed is available, indoor units (DX 500/1 for 12 V dc and DX 500/1/230 - or 110 - for mains powering) are optional available. The DX 500/Amp uses F connectors. Adapters for BNC, N, and PL 259 connectors are available.
