Thanks to this production process repairs are seldom required, but even RF Systems cannot produce equipment which is functioning forever. Often external causes such as a storm or lightning are the reason for a defect. If a product is really defective (please check first cables and fuses) than it has to be returned to your dealer. Please pack it carefully to prevent damage during shipping. Enclose with active antennas always the powersupply or indoor unit and a letter which describes the defect. Your dealer will ship the product to RF Systems. The shipping time is dependent of the distance to the Netherlands: sometimes it can take some time before the defective product is received at RF Systems. The defective product is handled by the RF Systems service department. The product is tested to see if it is really defective. Your letter with the description of the fault will be of great help in this process. Than the product is repaired or replaced, which is decided by RF Systems only. For complicated faults it is an advantage, that the development department is at the same location as the service department: they can give advise and sometimes faults have led to an improvement of the product. After repair the product is tested completely on all specifications. That's also the reason that dealers are not allowed repair RF Systems products by themselves. Only RF Systems has all original parts in stock and guarantees that the product is functioning again within all specifications as given in the datasheets. Often a repair report which describes the repair, sometimes the reason of the defect or with advice to overcome defects in the future, is enclosed with the repaired product. Products are repaired or replaced at RF Systems nearly always within 14 days, but the shipping time back to the customer has to taken in account.
